OBAMA BRILLANCE *Unemployment at 4-Year Low as U.S. Hiring Gains Steam





The economy picked up speed in February, creating jobs at a pace that would substantially lower the unemployment rate. But Washington could put a stop to that.

Even as analysts hailed a better-than-expected jobs report on Friday that pointed to an acceleration in growth, they warned that stronger employment gains are being put at risk by sequestration, the automatic spending cuts being imposed by the federal government.

Video game content control and gun control should go hand and hand; Gun control alone is not going to make much of a difference in controlling mass shootings






I'm not so sure that passing gun control laws is the answer.  I watched this commercial yesterday where via a video game children were taught self control.  Their grades improved significantly, behaviour problems were reduced and a multitude of other great skills were learned through playing this video game.  If there is evidence that a video game can improve self control, is it a leap to think that violent video games can teach someone or influence someone to kill?

I think video game content control and gun control should go hand and hand.  I don't think gun control alone is going to make much of a difference in controlling mass shootings.

On Thursday, the California State Senate passed the first in a spate of 30 gun control bills authored in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, which, taken together, have the potential to fundamentally alter gun ownership in the Golden State.
The bill, authored by Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) and passed in a largely bipartisan vote, would require a mandatory background check fee on all gun purchases. The state would then use that money for a program that confiscates firearms from people who are no longer legally allowed to own them due to a criminal conviction, mental illness or court order.
